Brody's Pattern!

Great pattern Brody! I am so happy to see that you work on school things at home :)

I asked the kids to name this pattern....and here is what we got:

Chicken Ham Chicken Ham
Blue Green Blue Green

Pink Purple Pink Purple

Many teachers only teach kids to name the pattern with ABC, etc. BUT that is only one way to name a pattern! We just want them to see that a pattern repeats over and over again---that is early algebraic thinking :) WOW.

I just can't believe how kids love to go home and practice what they've learned at school. Thank you SO much for sending in pictures of what you're kiddos are doing. Look at this amazing pattern by Reagan!

Recreating patterns with our own math tools! Take a close look and see if you find any mistakes at home :) We will be doing the same thing next week! 

Well, all in all, I'd say it was a GREAT day! We read a great book by Audrey Wood. I will post our 'play' tonight too!

The weather was beautiful...but windy. The kids were not totally full of candy either :) Yay!
Remember to still send healthy snacks to school next week.
