Happy 2nd day of school :)

Another good day today! What a sweet class! They are working SO hard and I am super proud to call them K02 kids!!!

Isn't this sign adorable? Olivia made it for us, only, I forgot to put it on the blog yesterday (the actual first day). Ooops! Super cute!

Today was our first day of 'math.' It's funny that many of them don't know what that word even means. Today we decided it had something to do with...numbers! (Oh, and math tools) We talked about snap cubes today and wrote down what types of things we can do with this tool. Very fun!

Layla made an L...for Layla!

This table decided to work as a TEAM! Whoa! That's right! Amazing :) We've only had two days and they're starting to realize how important that will be this year.

Learning how to sit at the circle! Very nice!

I hope you all had a great day too!

The First Day of Kindergarten!

One of our first jobs today was to meet Mrs. Ulvestad-the librarian!

Here we are...as Mrs. Ulvestad teaches us how to line up!

Coloring with friends :)

So....we all know that the first day of K can be a bit....dare I say, scary?! Well, today, Pete the Cat helped ease our fears by showing up in some of these places--like the lunchroom!

Enjoying some much needed quiet time!

Ready to go home!

What a GREAT day! We had so much fun! They are a great group and, obviously, must have a great group of parents :) Way to go! Your kiddos listened well and worked hard. Please remember that the first few weeks are tricky and tiring. There is a lot of practice and teaching of routines/expectations.

I heard, "when can we play," quite a few times today :) Ha! It's coming! I promise :)

Gearing Up...

Hi everyone! Well, who knows if anyone is reading this. I've had a great summer! Hope you have too! Here are some things I've enjoyed...
~Lake time! Swimming, tanning, relaxing, game nights, and grilling!
~A trip to the Grand Cayman! You were right Cale! It was an awesome trip. We got to swim with gigantic sting rays. I even got a back massage from one!
~Seeing Zac Brown Band/Kenny Chesney and Eli Young Band at Target Field
~Running outside instead on a treadmill....it's so fun to run through the park at the lake

I can't wait to meet my new group of kids and see what they were up to this summer. There will be some big changes in our classroom this year. I'll take some pictures and show you some of the new furniture K02 will have!

I spent a week at Algebra Camp through the South Dakota Counts program. I've been reading a lot of good professional materials about reading and math and can't wait to implement some of what I've learned. This is my first summer without a summer job and I've really enjoyed the time I've had to read and work on school things.

It's going to be a great year!

Oh I almost forgot. I will be Mrs. Cota after Christmas vacation! Haha. That should be interesting :)
