We have been so lucky to be included in Mrs. Runyan's class project. Here you can see that she invited us to her 1st grade room again. (This is also a fun way for them to see a first grade room) She is candling the chick eggs and you can actually see the chicks moving!!! It's crazy and awesome!
Devan is holding a thesaurus. We like to use 'fancy' words when writing. It's also important for your little readers to ask what words mean when reading. One of my favorite jobs as a teacher is to develop vocabulary. Sometimes I'm amazed at the words they do know the meaning of and words they don't know the meaning of! :) We decorated our fancy chair in hopes of using the thesaurus more, sharing our fancy writing (good voice/word choice), etc.
We started a poetry unit recently! I just LOVE teaching poetry! It's so fun to see them write. Enjoy these lovely selections from this week.
