A GREAT Wednesday!!!

Had to post this great picture of Jace! He finally wore his 100 day shirt :) He was a bit too shy to wear it on the 100th day. We were very proud of him!

Eve came up with a brilliant idea! She decided to call our 'towers' 'ten towers'....because every time we count them, there are always 10 cubes! Very smart! It's hard to explain, but many children struggle with the concept of 5 and 10. They still count from 1 every time. You can't force your child to count on. It comes from much practice with counting and playing counting games. You can ask, "How many are there?"...then tell them, "5 is always 5 and 10 is always 10!" Eventually, it will come.

We played this great math game today called snap it! Students hid 5 or 10 cubes behind their back. Then they snapped off some and showed it to their partner. So you might show 3 and say, "how many am I hiding?" This is the game we'll play for math packs this weekend!
