Happy Days in K!

We started off our morning by adding some important people to our vocabulary books!

We spent a lot of time exploring pattern block shapes and geoboards. Our main job was to try to build shapes with other shapes! This is actually a math standard and really important "play" so that children become used to using geometric language!

Audrina made a circle!

BOOM...Ariana got right to work and made a bunch of hexagons with smaller shapes!

They were all beyond excited to come and see how she made them...

Malachy made a rhombus with 2 smaller triangles.

A circle!

Look! A square!

Carter kept building hexagons....and made them larger and larger and larger! It was really cool. I've never seen a kiddo do that before!

Brayden found some hexagons hidden in this pattern block card!

Happy birthday to a very special little boy in our class! We all hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend Malachy!

We played a fun game to help us practice blending sounds together during reading.

We all got a copy of our new class book. You could probably hear us reading it down the hallway!

Did you know that David Shannon likes to hide his character, Fergus, (from Good Boy Fergus) in EVERY book he writes! Carter found him!
