Happy Friday!!!

What a week! Phew! It actually went kind of fast. Thank you to all of our parents again. You really are a great group of people...in many different ways. Even my student teacher has commented several times on how nice and willing to help out you all are!!!! I've enjoyed each and every conference.

Please remember to keep in touch once next year rolls around. It's a completely different ballgame in 1st. So remember to read and continue learning over the summer. Get in touch with your teachers right away about anything you feel they should know upfront :) :)

Today we studied captions. They are a new non-fiction text feature for us! First we read the definition and checked a couple of sample captions. Then I handed out pictures to the kids and I read a caption. They had to decide who matched.
We also made our own captions! Look below :) Super cute.

We practiced some subitizing today. First, we made domino cards that showed all of the different combinations for 4 (that we could think of). Then we did the same for 5. We had a talk about equal and not equal (an equal symbol that is crossed out).

We often read wonderful poems by Jill Eggleton. This week we read, Hippo and illustrated it!
