Happy Tuesday!!!

Yesterday, we played a new math game called Fill the Hexagons! We used triangles, a rhombus shape, and trapezoids.

This week we are LOVING a story called, Little Red Cowboy Hat. Ask your child what fairy tale it reminds him or her of. That's called a text-to-text connection!!!

Miss Vermeulen kicked off our week with a lesson on the tooth fairy. This book is hilarious :) :) Then we started writing our own stories about teeth and the tooth fairy. We will work on them all week!

We read, Color Zoo today and made shapes out of yarn. I was SO impressed with their shapes. I asked all of them about their shapes. I had them tell me about the vertices (points), line (straight or curvy) and how many sides it had....they did a GREAT job. These are good questions to ask if they work on shapes at home!

We even had some hexagons and trapezoids! WOW!

Oh....back to our cowgirl book. We are talking more in depth about the main character in a story. Today we talked about Little Red. I asked the kids to describe her on the inside. This would be a great sample discussion you can have when you read together at home :)
