We are beginning our big unit on 2-dimensional shapes. We're filling out this anchor chart to help us in our discussion about the lines, sides and vertices of each shape.
Our math problem was a great one! We asked, how many shapes can you make using only square pattern blocks? Most of our kids tried making circles and triangles. They thought they made it...but a few kiddos noticed that the lines on a circle are curved and a square won't work. We'll continue this discussion into the next few weeks as we build more shapes and talk about them.
Miss V is doing a GREAT job with shared reading!!!
