We are starting one of my favorite writing units....our poetry unit!!! Right off the bat, after our lesson, Jenna wrote this amazing poem about cats....

We got out our old favorite 20 frames and worked on building teen numbers again. We even wrote addition sentences to go with them. One of our goals, as kindergarten students, is to understand that a teen number is made up of a 10 group with some more 1's.
Practicing those vowel sounds!
