Happy Thursday!

Oops. This picture is sideways. Well...one of our friends was writing this great 2 page book about Halloween! Can you tell what he's dressing up as? The problem, we noticed, is that his words got squished because of his picture. So...he tried again and got it! Hard work!

We started a new discussion during math today...about measuring. We talked about the words shorter and longer. You might see a paper come home tonight! Have your child tell you what things he or she found in the room that were shorter than a 10 group of snap cubes.

Natalee found: A star

Jaxon found a little block.

Gabe found a cheer!

This friend found a number and duck :)

WHOA! This friend found a lot :) Don't you love their phonetic spelling?

We also went back to sorting. I didn't tell them that this was a venn diagram. But first I laid out the circles side by side. I told them the rules. The red circle could only have teddy bears. The blue circle could only have green objects.

So we sorted. Then I handed Owen a green teddy bear. Oh goodness! Where would he put it? We had this amazing talk about how the bear should go somewhere in the middle and Reagan figured out how to overlap the circles (TADA! A Venn Diagram!)

Then I handed Will a duck! He thought we should put it outside of the circle because it doesn't belong.

WOW.
