Happy Wednesday!!!!

We practiced writing the word blue how it looks in a book today! It is a word I want them to have memorized eventually...and most of them do already. We use color words in our writing a LOT!

Here's a great way to encourage your child to try inventive spelling. My advice is to encourage them to say the word slowly and then quickly write down any sounds they hear. I do not encourage kiddos to ask me or any adult how to spell a word.

Here you can see that Gabe is copying the word! Very smart when you don't know how to spell it....we always say, "If you see it, write it!"

We've been reading so many great picture books and thinking about how those writers write. What's the style of the book? Today was a great counting book by Eric Carle!

We used our new snap word (the) and wrote a shared writing piece together about zoo animals!

Here's Owen sharing a great book about the jet!

Yoseph was our VIP today! He did a GREAT job!

Miles is helping us put our numbers in order on the number line :)

When we were sorting people today...we discussed what attribute we sorted by (EX: straight hair, tennis shoes, etc) and then we wanted to record the number to show how many people we sorted! Look at all of the ways we can record our thinking!

Ooops! Sorry for the sideways picture :) We have this huge tub of balls! Each ball is different....we've been working to write describing words about the balls. Today we discussed what attributes those words would fit under. Great discussion and problem solving!
